Panther Families:

I am Sanjay Brown the proud new principal of Pershing School. I am thrilled to lead this amazing school and I am excited to work with all of our families, scholars and community partners as we lead students to success. You will be receiving a Sunday message every Sunday between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. with some exceptions made for holidays or long breaks. School messenger will be used as the primary source of communication between our school and families, you will also receive messages through REMIND so when the time comes please ensure you sign up to receive messages from teachers and our school.

As we move into our year of excellence, I ask all families to join together with Pershing School to make this year the best for all students and staff.

Parents, there are a couple of things I would like you to be aware of with regards to cell phones/headphones and hoodies on campus. Cellphones and headphones are permitted on campus, however, they should be turned off and put away at all times throughout the school day. We want to keep the focus on academic success, therefore, students using their phone/headphone even the first time will have the phone or headphone confiscated and a parent or guardian will need to retrieve the item. I ask all parents to plan accordingly and route messages through the main office. Additionally, hoodies can be worn but the hood of the hoodie jacket should not cover a students’ head. We now operate within a national school culture where we must be able to identify students from outsiders in a moments notice, hoods will obscure a students face and our ability to identify a student will be limited.

I appreciate your attention to these two important issues and ask that you speak with your students regularly on these matters. For more information, please view these policies in the OCPS Code of Conduct found under the students tab above.

Our rallying cry this school year is “Panther Pride!”

I am certainly proud to serve you, your students and this community. We are one Panther Family working to provide your students with an educational experience they will remember for years to come.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office at 407-858-3160.

Sanjay Brown
